Just when I thought it was safe to go back to the Internet, well it wasn't -technology done failed us again. So here it is Wednesday and I am just now blogging about Day 2. It was a wonderful day -the kids had great fun at the pool, doing crafts, and water games in the morning after chapel and church time. We had an amazing afternoon of free-time wall climbing, archery, playing Gaga Ball plus all the other cool stuff. The food is great and so is our chapel time. Karla and the band do an excellent job leading worship and our speaker Matt really brings the Word to us.
Our theme verse for Tuesday was Micah 6:8 which says, " No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." We talked a lot about these three requirements this day; we sought to do what is right, to be campers that show mercy to each other and to walk humbly with God. We looked at Jonah 2 and how when he was in the belly of the fish that swallowed him, he remembered God, he cried out to God (prayed), he praised and worshiped God, sacrificed, followed through on his promises to God, and finally sought salvation from God alone. Jonah's experience in the belly of the big fish really helped him to stop running from God and turn toward Him instead. This is the grace and mercy of God, He gives us so many chances, so many opportunities to stop running and to follow Him everyday.
I know that Satan is trying his darnedest to keep us, especially those campers who don't yet know Jesus from discovering His mercy and grace. Please pray for all of us, we don't want anything that would distract us from God's message to us.
I will post more later...
